Not too long ago I had the opportunity to be a guest on an award-winning podcast – A Little Bit of Everything with Me with Angelica Goncalves. As much I love reading and writing books, I may enjoy talking about them even more.
Not too long ago I had the opportunity to be a guest on an award-winning podcast – A Little Bit of Everything with Me with Angelica Goncalves. As much I love reading and writing books, I may enjoy talking about them even more.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to take part in an intimate panel discussion on fresh takes in science fiction, horror and dystopian fiction with three fellow authors from my publishing house, Trifecta Publishing House, at the 2018 SF Comic Con at the Oakland Convention Center in downtown Oakland, Calif..
Samantha Heuwagen (Dawn Among the Stars) made the trip from Atlanta and we were joined by K.M. Riley (Fever Rising) and Mark London Williams (Max Random and the Zombie 500). On Saturday, Mark and Samantha joined me at Sláinte in Jack London Square in Oakland for an episode of the Get the Knaak podcast. Sláinte is an Irish pub with a literary theme and features a giant portrait of Oscar Wilde on the wall.
The four of us enjoyed discussing our books, our processes, and a lively Q&A session. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and it’s always good to spend time with kindred spirits and reach new readers.
The journey as a novelist takes many twists and turns and attending and participating in events like this are worthwhile attractions along the way.
The promotional tour around northern California in support of my second novel, The Dark Descent, is underway.
I had a great time at Barnes & Noble Bay Street in Emeryville, Calif., with fellow authors K.M. Riley and Mike Esola. Riley is a labelmate with Trifecta Publishing House. It was a lot of fun participating in my first panel discussion as a published author and I hope to be a part of many more as part of this new vocation. Thank you to Barnes & Noble for hosting the event, and to Esola and Riley for sharing their wisdom and insight.
The next panel I will be a part of takes place Sunday, June 10, at the San Francisco Comic Con at the Oakland Convention Center in downtown Oakland. I will be joined by fellow Trifecta Publishing House authors Mark London Williams, K.M. Riley, and Samantha Heuwagen. We will get to rub elbows with some great folks in the entertainment industry and I’m looking forward to once again discussion something I am very passionate about.
More information about this opportunity is on the way very soon.
I also have three book signing events coming up and I am working on a TV appearance. Head over to the upcoming events page to find out what’s on tap.
Several book signing events are in the works as The Dark Descent gets ready to go to print. I am very excited about the release of my second novel, the sequel to The Dark Truth. I hope you are too as we learn Elizabeth’s fate.
I am very excited to announced the next confirmed event – a panel discussion with two published authors, one of whom is my Trifecta Publishing House labelmate K.M. Riley. Amazon bestselling author Michael Esola will join us to discuss fiction writing and publishing. We’ll also have a book signing.
K.M. Riley, a recent guest on the Get the Knaak podcast, is the author of the recently released Fever Rising. Michael Esola’s latest novel is called Hybrid, and it dropped last August.
Join us Saturday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Emeryville!
After an enjoyable signing event at the Gilroy, Calif., Barnes & Noble location, The Dark Truth book tour has drawn to a close. However, The Dark Descent releases four weeks from tomorrow on Monday, April 23. I’ll post pre-sale information as soon as it becomes available.
I did four signing events, three radio interviews and one in-studio TV appearance. Event calendar announcements for two of the signings appeared in local newspapers and accompanying web sites. Thank you to all of the media professionals who accommodated me.
I’d like to thank friends and co-workers who came to out to support me, and of course, the people I met at these events – those who purchased on the spot, ordered later, or just stopped by to chat. I have met a lot of great people so far, and I am looking forward to meeting more book lovers.
Details have yet to be finalized, but I have several more events in the works. I’ll be returning to a couple of locations and adding a few new ones for The Dark Descent book tour. I was interviewed for the Write About Now podcast recently. I’ll let you know when the episode is available for your listening pleasure. I am also scheduled for an appearance on Write Now with Sarah Werner in July.
Work on The Dark Terror continues. I don’t know where it’s going to go or how it ends, but it’s been a wild ride to write the first 12,000 words. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it.
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to get and read The Dark Truth, and get ready for The Dark Descent. April 23 will be here before you know it. And you don’t want Elizabeth knocking on your window in the middle of the night.
If you have read the book, please drop a review on the web site for the store where you made the purchase. Any and all feedback is welcome and encouraged.
Thank you all for your support.
– Jerry
The book tour is starting to heat up. After three radio interviews, a TV appearance, and a signing at Barnes & Noble Arden Fair in Sacramento, I’ll be at Mockingbird Books in Tracy, Calif., Friday night from 7 – 9 p.m. There will be refreshments.
Geronimo at Mockingbird was the first person to schedule yours truly for a signing. I finally got to meet Mark the last time I stopped in. It’s a great local store with an eclectic selection. It’s the epitome of a small town bookstore – new, used, high-end collector’s editions, kids books, graphic novels and more. The only thing the store is missing is a resident cat.
I’m looking forward to seeing my friends, coworkers and neighbors, in addition to meeting some great new people at this event.
Come on out, get a copy of The Dark Truth, and get it signed. Already have yours? Bring it and I’ll sign it for you.
