I hosted my first book signing event today at Barnes and Noble at Arden Fair in Sacramento. The store was decked out for yours truly, which is a heady tonic. It’s fulfilling and validating to see your picture, your book cover, and your name on a Barnes and Noble event sign next to your books in the window.
I spent five hours at the store chatting with patrons and hawking my wares. To the young lady whose mom saw my appearance on Good Day Sacramento and couldn’t wait for the event (and meet me) – thank you. I wish you all the success in the world in your creative endeavors.
And thank you to everyone who stopped by the table and took a moment to chat with me, whether you bought a copy or not (extra thanks to those of you who did). For those of you who didn’t purchase, but took a postcard or bookmark, I hope you do decide to give The Dark Truth a try.
Special thanks to Erik Stevens, Community Business Development Manager at Barnes and Noble Arden Fair. Although we weren’t able to meet in person, the store staff members were gracious and helpful. Thank you to every employee I encountered today, you helped make me feel very special.
I absolutely adore bookstores, chains or indie. I mentioned it before, if you sell books, you’re okay in my … um … book. It was an absolute thrill for me to sit at a table in a bookstore, surrounded by books, at a table signing MY books.
Hopefully, with three more signing currently scheduled, this is the start of something big.
